Art Walk, Georgia Pacific group show, PRND, Zorbatron, and Sugar Sugar Sugar!

During the September 3rd Art Walk, at 10:00, we will be drawing names of willing participants (any individual, local musician is welcome to submit his/her name) to create 3 or 4 brand new bands. These new bands will get 2 weeks to write and learn new songs, name the bands, and maybe create some merchandise. On Friday, September 17th Jinx will host a one-night-only show of those newly created bands. Participation in the band lottery is free, all you have to do is show up and drop your name in the hat…in fact, if you can’t be there at 10 on September 3rd but want to be involved, please email us and we’ll include your name in the drawing for you. Admission price to the show will be a $4 suggested donation to the venue to help pay for new sound equipment.

August 15 – JINX garage sale!!!

This is for anyone who may need furniture, fabric, tools, artwork, stainless steel sinks, darkroom equipment, reusable silkscreens, clothes, sound equipment, and…I don’t even know yet. But it’s gonna be good.

We need to clean house, and we want to give YOU a crack at some of our treasures. We may sound like hoarders, but really we’re more like down-sizing pirates, I swear!

We will also have refreshments, some kind of grilled food, some watermelon, some music, and maybe a clown. Definitely some balloons…maybe with water in them. Probably not a slip-n-slide, but you never know.

If you would like to sell your stuff at our garage sale, you may…all we ask is that you donate a bit of your sales to Jinx, if you sell anything, and take any unsold stuff back home with you. Or, away somewhere. You don’t have to take it home, but you can’t leave it here.

Noon-6 pm. Earlybirds pay double!

Femina Empirica — A Gallery of Movement — will explore the presence of a female body as an entity in itself, in groups, and as art- what we as people see day to day and do/do not notice.

The work is inspired by the performers themselves and in conjunction with the pieces currently on display in the JINX Art Gallery entitled “Hung.”
