Group art show of Red and Pink pieces by local artists, starts at 6pm, First Friday Art Walk. Buy an original piece of artwork or a Jinx t-shirt or Calendar for your Valentine! Or for yourself because nobody likes you! Either way, in love or in trouble, you’ll not be the only one, at JINX.

OPEN SUBMISSION, DEADLINE TO SUBMIT IS FEBRUARY 2ND.

Red and Pink group show reception will be held February 5, 6-midnight with music by Pan Pan and Librarians! No cover charge!

YOU AND EVERYONE YOU KNOW ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT ARTWORK FOR OUR ONE AND ONLY, 4TH ANNUAL, COMPLETELY OPEN, REALLY FOR REAL GROUP ART SHOW.

SUBMIT WORK BY FEBRUARY 1ST, PHYSICALLY AND IN PERSON OR BY JPEG VIA EMAIL. PIECES MUST BE DROPPED OFF NO LATER THAN 5PM, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH.

-PIECES MUST BE PRIMARILY RED, PINK, OR BOTH

-PIECES MAY OR MAY NOT INCLUDE CONTENT RELATED TO VALENTINES DAY, LOVE, SEX, BEAUTY, ANGER, OR LONELINESS. I’M NOT SAYIN’, I’M JUST SAYIN’.

-PIECES ABSOLUTE MUST BE FRAMED WITH HANGING WIRES CONNECTED TO THE BACK OF SAID FRAMES. THIS MEANS, OBVIOUSLY, NO CLIP FRAMES, AND NO FRAMES WITHOUT WIRES.

-PIECES MUST HAVE ATTACHED TO THEIR BACKING: NAME OF ARTIST, TITLE OF PIECE, AND PRICE OF PIECE INCLUDING A 25 PERCENT COMMISSION WHICH WILL BE TAKEN BY GALLERY REPRESENTATIVE AT THE TIME AND IN THE CASE OF SALES.

THE PORTRAIT SHOW, new work on an old theme. The portrait has historically been a study of the personality, as much as the physical likeness, of its subject. September’s Art Walk reception features a group of new pieces of portraiture and persona. Artwork by Genevieve Gonska, Christopher Martinez-Luna, Jonathan McIntyre, Michelle Schutte, and Jason Williamson.

With the Daffodils and Language Arts!!!

Art reception begins at 6pm, music (sponsored by Casa Que Pasa) starts at 10. Show hangs September 4th-30th.

SUBMIT CAMERA-PHONE PHOTOS FOR OUR NEXT GROUP SHOW!!! Submit work for our next group show, Sonitus Oculus, a camera-phone-photo group show, by emailing as many of your camera-phone images as you wish to info@jinxartspace.com. Please include “submission for July show” in the subject line. The deadline for submissions is June 19th-ish. DON’T BE SCARED! THIS IS OPEN TO EVERYONE, INCLUDING YOU WHO HAVE NEVER CONSIDERED HANGING A PIECE OF ART, NEVER, EVER!!! WE WILL EVEN FRAME IT FOR YOU!!!!

To be considered for the show, you must be prepared to deliver matted and framed pieces by Wednesday, July 1st, or you can just send Michelle the image and then pay her $20 to print, mat, and frame the piece for you. Once that’s taken care of, all you have to do is show up for the party. Or not, but that would be weird.

The show will open with a reception on July 3rd with Amazing Music by the Honeymoon’s Over and Dog Shredder, Giant Sandwiches, Cold Beers, Random Dressed Up Cabaret Ladies, and …Bellebrity Dunk Tank!!!!!
